This style of glass has its origins in the island of Murano off the coast of Venice, Italy and dates back to the 9th century. From then onwards the glassmakers of Murano have forged a reputation for quality craftsmanship and have invented new, exciting techniques for working with glass, such as millefiori and filigree. Many glassmakers making Murano style glass still use methods and tools such as blowpipes and large class cutters dating back many centuries. The result is unique, vibrant and colourful glass pieces and jewellery. The glass comes in a variety of vivid and exciting colours and here you will find it combined with a number of pieces including, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants. All the jewellery fixings and findings with this glass is of course, unless otherwise stated, guaranteed 925 fine sterling silver.

As well as beads in the murano style our designers offer varying types of jewellery incorporating glass foil, czech and lampwork beads. In addition many of our hand crafted pieces are combined with dichroic glass. Originally invented by the NASA space agency for use in satellites dichroic glass has amazing optical properties which alter the colour of the piece in differing light conditions giving wonderful, vivid colours.
